Post number 2!

This is a screen shot of adobe bride, with six pictures in it. For this assignment we were told to experiment with the white balance on our camera. We were then supposed to edit the pictures through Lightroom and make them all look identical. Instead of light room I used camera raw, a program all computers have with a slr camera. This is the picture after the editing.                                                                                                                                          Screen Shot 2013-09-17 at 9.03.42 AM

After that I worked on using depth of field to make some cool pictures. They are both identical except I used several different apertures, to create a cool background effect, or foreground effect. Just changing the aperture can mess with all your settings and it took me a while to find the right combination of shutter speed and aperture. I learned that you need to adjust the shutter speed in the same number as you adjust the aperture. It is really important, something I didn’t realize. Editing the aperture is something I plan on experimenting with in the future. Its just a really cool effect.          depth of field 2 Depth of field 1

The slow motion part of our assignment was my least favorite. Its something thats really hard to do with out a tripod to stabilize your camera. To get the effect you need to lower your shutter speed to a very small portion. This means that if your camera shakes just a little, its going to show in your picture dramatically. I sat outside in my front yard and waited for a car to come by so I could get a good picture. The only problem is that I was using a tree branch to balance my camera, and it didn’t come out as I would have liked it too. Part of the assignment was also to have something solid and unmoving in the picture. In fact me just moving my hand in the slightest screwed my picture. Only one or maybe two of the five pictures turned out well, and that I really liked. Next time I plan on using a tripod to make it balanced. I would really like to try his again with, hopefully, better results.                                                                      slow mow 5
